Eric Drew, a long-time resident of Los Gatos, was diagnosed with
Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at age 35 in December 2002.
Life, as Eric knew it, suddenly came to a halt. He was immediately
admitted to Stanford Medical Center for extensive chemotherapy
in order to save his life. His lifestyle, his career, and his relationships
will never be the same.
ALL is typically a child’s disease, but in rare cases,
it can suddenly strike adults, as is the case with Eric Drew. It
is especially devastating as it can lead to death within several
weeks of inception. By the time a victim discovers that he/she is
ill, they can literally be days away from dying from this terrible
and rare form of Leukemia cancer. ALL is very rare and much more
deadly and difficult to cure in adults than it is in children.
